Duct Vent Cleaning

Just as all surfaces in your home get dirty and dusty over time, the same is true about your ducts.  All sorts of contaminants and air pollutants are generated in our homes every day.  When contaminants like bacteria, pet dander, dust, skin cells, mold, and tobacco smoke are pulled into your home's HVAC system, they travel through a system of air ducts, recirculating through your home an average of five to seven times per day.  Over time, all that can cause major buildup in the duct work of your home.

Adding to the issue, rodents and insects might take up residence in ductwork and can chew their way in or find unsealed access routes and make their home in the duct work.  When rodents make their way into your home, they make nests and leave droppings.  All those spores and bacteria can make their way into your home contaminating the quality of air that you are breathing.

Ducts that are dirty can contribute to major health issues, especially for those with respriatory conditions, auto-immune disorders, asthma or allergies.  All these indoor air pollutants can lead to upper respriatory problems.

New construction and remodeled homes should consider duct cleaning as this is a messy process even if the contractor keeps the system off or closes off work areas.  These fine dust particals get into the system and can cause respriatory problems.
